Roads and Transport Authority of Dubai extends theory test partnership with Pearson VUE

DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, March 16, 2015 – The Roads and Transport Authority of Dubai (RTA) has announced it is extending its multi-year partnership with global computer-based testing leader Pearson VUE to deliver its theory test.

RTA’s chief executive, Mr Ahmed Bahrozyan, said that the decision was made due to Pearson VUE’s strong presence on the ground resulting in a high quality of service. He said: “We have been delighted with the innovative, sophisticated and consistent service provided by Pearson VUE in delivering our theory test across Dubai.

“RTA chooses to work with reputable companies to ensure the highest levels of service for our theory test-takers, and the advanced technology offered by Pearson VUE has made this possible.”

Matthew Poyiadgi, vice president of EMEA at Pearson VUE, said: “I am proud that we have built a strong working relationship with RTA and the Dubai government over the past three years and this renewal of our partnership will only strengthen that relationship, offering greater efficiency and high levels of service from our regional team.”

The advanced solution created by Pearson VUE – the first computer-based test for the Middle East transport industry – offers online registration and scheduling for the theory test. Test-takers receive confirmations via e-mail and/or SMS with an SMS to remind them of the location and time of their assessment before they sit the test using touch-screen technology.

Pearson VUE operates and maintains the test delivery system, providing test centres with first and second line technical support, logging and resolving faults, software testing and enhancements along with backup services.

The test can be delivered in several languages including Arabic, English and Urdu, with a voiceover feature also available. The RTA is responsible for drivers and vehicle licensing in the Emirate of Dubai. It delivers services through a combination of agency-operated customer service centres, approved agent operators and e-service channels.
